* One of several songs written for the album in May 2019 on the porch swing of the Bayit at URJ Camp OSRUI during the annual Hava Nashira Songleading Conference which I have attended annually since 2005, and served on faculty in 2021.

* This adaptation of the Avot v’Imahot (Fathers & Mothers) prayer was part of a project idea of mine for composing songs based on original English reflections for each prayer in the Reform Jewish prayer service. This prayer, the first in the Amidah (standing prayer section), is often explained as our formal “introduction” to God, a reminder that God knows us because God knows our ancestors.

* It has been suggested to me that this song could also be used for Kaddish Yatom, the mourners’ prayer.

* This song was exclusively premiered at Shabbat services during Temple Sholom retreats at URJ Camp OSRUI in 2019-20.
